NYLON TV + CHANEL

Leanne Marshall

Leanne Marshall, 27 years old American designer from Portland, Ore.
I wanted to make a post about her a long time ago. She is a winner of last season of Project Runway. I fall in love in her design during the show, so organic in shape and very modern clothes. She prefers minimalism, but her “petal details” made her designs stand out during season 5. Her winning collection, show at Bryant Park, impressed me so much that I wish I could have at least one of her pieces in my collection. Leanne showed a wave-inspired collection draped in large panels of white, cream and shades of turquoise. Clothes rippled like waves of water when the models walked. First time I have seen such a cohesive and beautiful collection. The colors were sublime and mature and the silhouettes were architecturally contemporary. Amazing!

Leanne’s inspiration:
When you were creating this collection you said waves and water were your inspiration, which is evident. Can you talk a little bit more about the inspiration and what made you decide to use sustainable fabrics?
I went down by the waterfront in Portland and got inspired there and started just coming up with these patterns. As far as the sustainable fabrics…it’s something that I’m a big supporter of and I’ve used sustainable fabrics for a while and I really wanted to make sure that I had at least half sustainable textiles in my collection. But I still wanted to make sure that, you know — we were given eight thousand dollars to do this collection — I wanted to mix in some really high end fabrics which have color because sustainable textiles tend to be neutral toned. more at : www.fancast.com

Two of my favourite pieces: beige skirt and white wedding dress! Fabulous!!

Unfortunately, we are not able to buy any of her pieces. All of them were auctioned off, and designers from Project Runaway are not allowed to re-create any of them. They are all meant to be one-of-a-kind for the show. But thanks good high-street shops can copy them. I have seen in few shops like Reiss and H&M skirts, which are a copy of Leanne's turquoise skirt. It will never be the same quality and shape but always something to cheer us up!
Example Reiss, costs 89 Pounds

More of crazy leggings. I decided and I am going to buy one. I like how they look with this great oversizes tee that Joanna Horodynska is wearing.

VOGUE vs VOGUE

Thw March Vogue Paris issue with Iris Strubegger on cover, remains very much Vogue Italia's cover from 1992.
Cover was shot by: Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.
Italian cover was shoot by Steven Meisel, and model is Kirsten McMenamy.

This issued was all about Coco Chanel. The Vogue Paris cover, should be treated as a tribute (?*) to number where model was clad in everything Chanel.
Anyway cover made by Alas and Piggot is very good, and It would be very nice to have this on in my collection.

* Why to make tribute to a cover?

Les Chiffoniers

If you don’t know yet Les Chiffoniers, the most hot and wanted new label, you should check it!
This is a new label, started by Central Saint Martins graduate Leena Similu. She used to work for Stella McCartney and Jil Sander. In 2008 she launched her new standout collection, “Betty”. This new label became already favorite of Kate Moss and Juliette Lewis, who have been spotted few times in its signature PVC leggings. Each of the peace produced by the Les Chiffoniers holds a certain element of rock’n’roll edge, lots of chunky zips and shimmering sequins on leggings, jackets. There is also a range of soft knits, dresses and t-shirts. There is no doubt that this clothes are unique! As well loved by real ‘Fashionistas’ and indie kids (maybe not to all, because price of LC pieces if quite exclusive).

Delicious

Alexander McQueen's futuristic a pair of leggings in his kaleidescopic print this is something that real "fashionistas" must have!
By, by boring black leggings.
BTW I was never a fan of leggings, I have got one pair (long,in black colour) but I have never wear them. I hate to wear the same what 99% of girls on the streets. So probably, I will start to wear leggings probably in few years, when they will be totally out of fashion. I just can not stand badly looking girls, with to short legs, and few pounds more, wearing them to skimpy skirts or shirts, yakh! They look good with oversized belted tops, tunics, dresses, etc. Never with small tight tops.
But the new trend - futuristic patterns on leggings is attracting me very much.:)

The Smiths...Handsome, Handsome...

I'm ending my dissertations. This is final weekend, deadline is for Monday. I am almost done! During my breaks, I am cheering up myself with good music! This video is an introduction to post I will publish soon.

It was very rainy today in UK, what to expect this is England :)
Unfortunately since Thursday, there is a great music festival in Brighton, Great Escape, I bought a ticket, and even went for one day (on Thursday), but could not because of my work go yesterday and today. Hope my boyfriend will forgive me this!

Matthew Williamson for H&M, summer 2009 collection

I really like this TV commercial (little bit awkward) but great music.

I did not find anything particularly interesting in this collection, also photo session is quite predictable.

By,by Celia

Celia Ammerman, the best girl from whole ANTM cycle 12 is gone!
I used to love the way she looks, her style and creativity! Unfortunately she was seen as to old, and T.Banks wished her a career in fashion world but not in modeling.
I will never understand, knowing that age is such a big thing in modeling, they let her to go so far, and just before the end, rejected. ANTM sucks.

Lucky girl photographed by The Sartorialist!
Good Luck Celia.

bronx shoes

bronx

I think I will buy these one, I like color and whats more they are made of leather, so after few walks to town and rainy weather, they still should look ok.

These Bronx, and Also shoes are much nicer than Givenhy ones.
